Rainy Day

Last Tuesday I woke up late, frantically called my dad to see if he was at work and if he would be able to pick me up and take me to school. It was the last day of classes and would be bad if I missed the last LDS History class. He was able to pick me up, but not able to drop me off in the JSB, which was okay since I walked quickly there from the MOA parking lot. I was in a 3/4 length baseball t-shirt with "We Will Rock You" in bold letters above "Utah Academy Dance Studio." This was my dance company that I went to in high school with the shirt we used for a special dance. I was also in brown pants tied just below the knee and my grey/white flip flops. It was nice enough out that I did not need a jacket, but as I walked back from the bus stop to my apartment, it began to lightly shower. So after I showered and was dressed, I grabbed a light jacket with a hood to cover me from the rain as I walked to work. The walk was nice and work was fine. Nothing spectacular to remember that day. When I headed back onto campus for my very last class, the rain started again harder and smelt wonderful! The rain kept coming down harder after class and while waiting for the bus, I realized it was going to be interesting to walk from the bus stop to my apartment once again. Once I got off the bus I began to walk but soon began to run thinking I could get to my apartment faster and less wet. I was very wrong. I arrived with most of my clothes soaked, half my hair dripping wet, and very out of breath. But it was so worth it, as I looked into the mirror and saw me wet. To get soaking wet from the rain is one of the things I want to do before I die and it happened! I was so excited I began to tell everyone who I knew that would care. I am sure they all thought I was being a dork, but I didn't care. It enthralled me to have gotten that wet from nature!

Conference!!!

Today is conference! My mom is gone to a funeral so it's me, my dad, my brother and his girlfriend babysitting Alliyah. She's pretty bored since we're not letting her do anything loud and we're just all watching conference. Yara (my brother's girlfriend) is really good with her. I also decided to open up photo booth and take a couple pictures of Alliyah and me together. They turned out really cute. Hopefully my mom will get home soon so she can have a new face. Daniel left inbetween the sessions to campus to work on a project. Lucky him (well he doesn't have to baby sit). But I got her to smile which is really good! When her mom drops her off she has her kiss her so last night I wanted to see if she would give my dad a kiss, which she did. I'm not a big family kisser/hugger but I asked her to give me a kiss and got it at the right moment. So cute!!!

So last week my roommate Lindsay needed to come up with a children's story manuscript for her children's writing class. She wasn't sure what to do and I said I would help her come up with an idea since I'm fairly good at that. I looked up my writing idea site : seventhsanctum.com. So if anyone wants a good site for story ideas, this is a good one. There are a lot of "applications" to help you. Well anyways I clicked on one of them and it gave me a lot of random ideas put together. So the words we got out of it were athlete, monk, tree, given a talking to, etc. We chose a monk who secretly wants to be a basketball player. The place where monks live (monastary...) has a basketball court for the orphaned children to play. Late at night the monk goes there to play with his expensive basketball shoes on underneath his robes. The head monk finds out and gives him a talking to about it. I don't know how it finishes because it's Lindsay's story, but I'm excited to find out how it does.

I wish I could come up with cool story ideas like that so I could write a novel someday :)
