New Moon

I went to the New Moon midnight showing Thursday night! After reading all of the twilight series books I hated both Jacob and Edward and didn't care, but after seeing that movie I am all for Jacob (the werewolf). It's sad isn't it?
But just look at him :)

Heart + Wish = Dream

While I was helping to babysit, Alliyah was watching Cinderella and on came the song "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes." It has a cute sentimental feeling, but lately I've been having some odd dreams. One where I'm being made to visit my ex-boyfriend and his new wife. And the other I had a baby girl, but I was so busy that I wasn't able to be with her even though she was only two days old. I don't think these dreams are something my heart would wish for.

Home is Where the Heart Is

I love going home on weekends.
I can do my laundry on Saturdays, and spend time with my family on Sundays.

My brother picked me up around 3 today to bring me home for family dinner. Close to 4 my dad called to say he was coming home from church and asked if mom was asleep. I said mom wasn't here. He told me she went home with another lady so I went over to her house and found my mom and her cooking food for the singles ward "break the fast." Until they realized it didn't start until 4:30. I helped and had fun cooking with them. Soon the ward began to show up and saw many of my friends from the summer. It was wonderful to talk with so many people I have a friendship with. We had plenty of food and probably just enough for everyone. And it was good food!

I love going home on weekends.

Sick of being sick

I am sick of being sick. I was sick two weeks ago with a cold and got through it fine with midnight popsicles and plenty of pills. All I had left was a somewhat sniffly nose. Come Sunday morning of Conference, I woke up at 7 a.m. in agony. There was pain throughout my body including my jaw, my throat was killing me and it hurt to swallow. I couldn't fall back asleep so I went downstairs to take some pills and eat a banana so I wouldn't puke them up, then I went back upstairs to take a bath to soothe my aching body and my orange cat came in to see what was happening at 7 a.m.

I soon fell asleep again in my bed once the pills began to work and woke up at 11:30 a.m. just in time for the last talk which I didn't hear anyways. I survived that day but my throat was in agony again the next morning. So I stayed home from school and work and called my doctor's office to get some pills called in which happened so my throat has been feeling a lot better during the day but I had no popsicles to soothe my throat for a midnight snack. But luckily I purchased them tonight so I can't wait for midnight snacks!

Webmd gave me the answer : tonsillitis

But I'm sick of being sick.

Of all time.

Hot Diggity Dog

I love the feeling of waiting in line for a ticket, heading for a last bathroom trip, sitting down in semi comfortable chairs, hearing and feeling the slight tug of dried soda pop beneath your shoes, passing around the hot buttery popcorn, trying not to chew during the intense quiet parts, the slurping sound of an almost empty cup, that one baby or cell phone going off and missing your favorite line of the movie, seeing the attractive actors, not wanting to leave once the credits hit, stretching your arms from sitting for too long, not being able to see the bright outside, sad that the movie is over, and looking out the back window in awe of the one place with so many feelings.

My Little Pony

Every time I say "pretty pretty princess!" I think of My Little Pony. Not sure why.

Pretty Pretty Princess is my cat Lillian. There is no other way to describe her; she is just that.

And actually she is sitting behind me right now and trying to lick my arm to shreds.

Oh and bumping into me...

cats are odd

All Hallows Eve

I know it's way too early to be thinking about what I want to be for Halloween this year, but ever since I bought some bandanas and a three barrel roll, I've had two ideas.

The first is to be a flapper; the three barrel roll makes my hair really wavy and since it's so short, I look like a flapper. My great grandmother was a flapper and my mom still has most of her clothes. There's a costume right there.

A while back, I helped my dad with a film project, so I kept my short hair back with a tan bandana and decided that I felt like Rosie the Rivet
er. I could just curl my bangs in the front and cover the back up then get the clothes and I could be Rosie!

Long Time, No See

So it's been a while since I've been on this thing. I've just been too lazy to write anything, but I've been writing a story and want to share it with people. Yes it may be cheesy, oh well. I don't care (that much :) )

With all the continuous walking, she was growing weak. She needed to stop and catch her strength. They were within a greenhouse of sorts hidden among the many turns of the labyrinth. Plants and trees surrounded most everything, which made it near impossible to see beyond five feet. The sun’s heat was slowly beginning to fade away making it night soon.

“Impossible! It can’t be getting close to sunset now. I’ve still a long ways to go.”

“How can you be so sure? We don’t even know why you are here in the first place,” he said.

“But I do know! The tattoo on my ankle is the same one I saw at the entrance,” Both looked down towards her left ankle. It traced an endless circle weaving through and around each line.

“I know, I know,” rolling his eyes in annoyance with her. “You’ve told me many times, but I haven’t seen that symbol anywhere and I’ve lived in this labyrinth most of my life,” He stopped walking and stood in front of an old cottage hidden among the vines.

“Where are we?” Her puzzled look turned to understanding as she watched his face. “What are you doing?” Her voice rose to a scream. “Don’t you realize this is what he wants? He wants me to give in and I won’t. I refuse to. I’ve come too far to give up.”

He didn’t say anything. Nor did he move freely by his own will. He looked as though someone was moving his body towards the door to open it to let something terrible out. The only thing that looked familiar were his eyes. Almost as soon as she saw that sorrowful emotion it disappeared into nothingness. His actions were too quick for her. By the time she reached his hand it had already been lowered to his side while others like him blocked the entrance to the cottage.

Another one...

“Have you ever let your hair down and let it run loose? Letting the wind flow through its every strand?” She stood in the field of wheat turning slow circles. “It’s so refreshing to not have it caught up in a hair tie all day; to be free.”

She was talking to herself not knowing or caring who was listening. Those last three words stuck the listener nearby. “To be free.” What a wonder it would be to be free, able to roam the world with nothing to tie me down.

Tulip Festival

Ah the beautiful tulips and the rain combined with flapper-style hair and hooker-like makeup and heavy heavy bags equals beautiful day with the family up at the Tulip Festival. My parents and Alliyah came up to watch me tap, but turns out the rain and the stage being cement, Colleen decided to cancel. Either we would hurt ourselves or our tap shoes or both. My family and I then walked around the gardens winding through the many maze like paths looking and taking pictures of tulips, the Temple Flower, and statues and each other.

Felicity Designs

I changed my blog name because when I was a freshman at the colorguard closing social, our advisor gave us each words that describe us, which mine was Felicity. I've loved it ever since. And "designs" comes in because I desperately want to be an interior designer which I plan on doing. So I put the two together and vuala... my new name!

Rainy Day

Last Tuesday I woke up late, frantically called my dad to see if he was at work and if he would be able to pick me up and take me to school. It was the last day of classes and would be bad if I missed the last LDS History class. He was able to pick me up, but not able to drop me off in the JSB, which was okay since I walked quickly there from the MOA parking lot. I was in a 3/4 length baseball t-shirt with "We Will Rock You" in bold letters above "Utah Academy Dance Studio." This was my dance company that I went to in high school with the shirt we used for a special dance. I was also in brown pants tied just below the knee and my grey/white flip flops. It was nice enough out that I did not need a jacket, but as I walked back from the bus stop to my apartment, it began to lightly shower. So after I showered and was dressed, I grabbed a light jacket with a hood to cover me from the rain as I walked to work. The walk was nice and work was fine. Nothing spectacular to remember that day. When I headed back onto campus for my very last class, the rain started again harder and smelt wonderful! The rain kept coming down harder after class and while waiting for the bus, I realized it was going to be interesting to walk from the bus stop to my apartment once again. Once I got off the bus I began to walk but soon began to run thinking I could get to my apartment faster and less wet. I was very wrong. I arrived with most of my clothes soaked, half my hair dripping wet, and very out of breath. But it was so worth it, as I looked into the mirror and saw me wet. To get soaking wet from the rain is one of the things I want to do before I die and it happened! I was so excited I began to tell everyone who I knew that would care. I am sure they all thought I was being a dork, but I didn't care. It enthralled me to have gotten that wet from nature!

Conference!!!

Today is conference! My mom is gone to a funeral so it's me, my dad, my brother and his girlfriend babysitting Alliyah. She's pretty bored since we're not letting her do anything loud and we're just all watching conference. Yara (my brother's girlfriend) is really good with her. I also decided to open up photo booth and take a couple pictures of Alliyah and me together. They turned out really cute. Hopefully my mom will get home soon so she can have a new face. Daniel left inbetween the sessions to campus to work on a project. Lucky him (well he doesn't have to baby sit). But I got her to smile which is really good! When her mom drops her off she has her kiss her so last night I wanted to see if she would give my dad a kiss, which she did. I'm not a big family kisser/hugger but I asked her to give me a kiss and got it at the right moment. So cute!!!

So last week my roommate Lindsay needed to come up with a children's story manuscript for her children's writing class. She wasn't sure what to do and I said I would help her come up with an idea since I'm fairly good at that. I looked up my writing idea site : seventhsanctum.com. So if anyone wants a good site for story ideas, this is a good one. There are a lot of "applications" to help you. Well anyways I clicked on one of them and it gave me a lot of random ideas put together. So the words we got out of it were athlete, monk, tree, given a talking to, etc. We chose a monk who secretly wants to be a basketball player. The place where monks live (monastary...) has a basketball court for the orphaned children to play. Late at night the monk goes there to play with his expensive basketball shoes on underneath his robes. The head monk finds out and gives him a talking to about it. I don't know how it finishes because it's Lindsay's story, but I'm excited to find out how it does.

I wish I could come up with cool story ideas like that so I could write a novel someday :)

The woes of today

So today I found out the boy I like was left alone from his friends "to work his magic" on Saturday night. A few days ago I told myself I would just forget about him, but this just hurt. It's like stabbing my heart and then wringing it out to dry. I wouldn't say that I loved him, but using the heart is a good metaphor. What's makes this process worse is that he kind of led me on. He is such a sweetheart and a gentleman that anyone could have been fooled by his acts towards me. One time he hugged me for a long time and didn't let go. Now to me it shows that he was interested, but noooo, apparently he's not. Since this has happened I have officially declared that the rest of today will be my moping day. I will go home and watch f-r-i-e-n-d-s while eating delicious ice cream. Mmmmmm. *licking my lips* I will get over this because as my friend told me today, "Your dream boat is looking for you! There totally is some hunk out there! I bet he dances better than --- too!" Which I hope that time is soon.

"The Sunflower"

As I've been reading this book, The Sunflower I've really been contemplating my life right now. In the book the two main characters are in Peru volunteering and going on many adventures. They just caught and held a few crocodiles and have to deal with jaguars and pumas. (never run away from them. they'll chase. just back off slowly maintaining dominate eye contact) This girl is so brave to get away from regular life and live for two weeks in the wilderness as many Amazon tribes do. I'm proud of her, but I just get scared because I don't think I would be able to survive if it were me in her place. I've considered doing volunteer work in Croatia for bears to keep them alive. But now that I have read this story about doing service in a foreign country, I don't think I would be okay. I would panic about every little thing, especially if it's possible to die. But I recommend you all to read it. It's a good book.

Life atWork

So I was planning on studying today at work, but I got distracted with playing with Super Text Twist (by the way, best game in the world :) I got my roommates hooked on it). And when I was ready to get down to business, the clock said it was 3:42! I get out of work at 4:15. So pretty much I had half an hour to study for geology, thhbbppptt. I've been reading The Sunflower and Sense and Sensibility. They're both good and once I finish I can try to study for classes as the semester ends.

25 Things about me!

1. I love country dancing and tap dancing! I have some of the greatest friends in them!!!

2. I think February 3, 2009 was possibly the best night of my life so far... If you would like to know about it, just send me a message and I'll tell you all.

3. I love getting blankets and pillows and pillow casese for presents. I just love to be comfortable when sleeping.

4. Also I love getting new pajamas. I have pajamas for many holiday's and want to keep getting more.

5. I'm obsessed with the new Pride and Prejudice movie. It's on my i pod and I watch it almost every night before I go to sleep.

6. I have a pet peeve about rubber bands and balloons. I cannot stand touching them and will do my best so that I do not have to. If there is a dead balloon in my house I will leave it there until someone else takes it away.

7. I love to read books and especially love shopping for them.

8. I love the smell of book stores/coffee (they smell the same because of the coffee in them) and hardware stores (the freshly cut wood).

9. I think I own 35 pairs of shoes, but not really sure. My mom has a few of my pairs at home. They are my favorite accessory.

10. If you ever plan on dating me you cannot be rhythm deaf. I once danced with a guy who couldn't hear the beat and it bugged me so badly. Since I'm a dancer you have to at least be able to clap to the beat so we can actually dance together.

11. I actually love my life right now! I am extremely happy with where I'm at. I've gone a little crazy and don't care what people think of me because I am happy with myself!!!

12. I can't wait to turn 20 just so I won't be a teenager any more. :)

13. It took me like 2 years to find a ring that I love to wear and that looks good on me, so I don't know how I will decide for a wedding ring when I do end up getting engaged.

14. I love my family because I can with them about different things. Daniel is the techy one so he helps me with my computer, Scott I can pretty much tell anything, my dad is the one who hears all my story ideas and he asks me for ideas in return, my mom is the one I probably talk the most with. She's the one I can complain to, cry to and just have fun girl talk. I love doing things with her because we have so many similarities like "Wisconsin Macaroni and Cheese" from Noodles and Company.

15. I tap every Saturday morning in Lindon for my tap company. It's at 9 a.m. which isn't too early, but Brooke, Holly, Robby and others and I get really crazy at that time which I love.

16. I don't eat regular peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It takes way too long to make them so I just buy the uncrustables. Some people make fun of me, but I love them. Just grab and go!

17. I love buying soundtracks because it gives you such a selection of music!

18. Being a dancer I have become accustomed to many genres of music, so yes I do like rap and hip hop.

19. I love a good massage. And will love you for it if you give it to me.

20. I've decided I like socks, a lot.

21. I love to laugh

Loud and long and clear

I love to laugh

It's getting worse ev'ry year

The more I laugh

The more I fill with glee

And the more the glee

The more I'm a merrier me

It's embarrassing!

The more I'm a merrier me!

22. My cousin's daughter is Alliyah, and my family babysits her almost every weekend and she is such a doll to be around. She is 2 years old and loves dinosaurs.

23. Going fast in a car with the windows rolled down and the music blasting thrills me!

24. My old dream car was a yellow jeep wrangler, but then my green subaru got totaled so now I really want my green subaru back.

25. I have four wonderful cats that are my life! Phillip, Lillian, Josephine, and Hobbes. Look up "hobbes slappy cat" on you tube and you will see him attacking me. That is my claim to fame.
